Holy Moly! I can't believe I forgot to make a post Friday! Basically we had definitions in the regular class and I checked their Agendas, Journals, Vocabulary, and their tables on place value and powers of ten.

Vocab:

Scientific Notation
Standard Notation
Decimal Notation
Exponents
Base
Powers of ten
Exponent Rules

In the advanced class we worked on the Chapter 1 Mid-Chapter Quiz and I checked their Vocab, Notes, and Agendas.

Now for today! In the regular classes we introduced scientific notation and how to alternate between it and standard notation. Check their Journals for notes. YOU WILL HAVE A POP QUIZ tomorrow on that. (that is your reward for reading the blog!) Parents do a few examples for practice, you can even go to http://www.chem.tamu.edu/class/fyp/mathrev/mr-scnot.html if your not sure how to help them! In the advanced class we introduced graphing algebraic equations. For homework they have Pg. 40 #s 11,12,22,23, and 38. We also had some vocab we did in class, it's listed below. Phew, that means we're caught up! Remember, Friday is the Pumpkin Festival! Bring back your permission slips and money, I can't wait for pumpkin ice cream! See ya tomorrow!

Advanced Vocab:

coordinate Plane
x-axis
y-axis
x-coordinate
