The Pumpkin Festival is only 2 days away (aka pumpkin dumplings with pumpkin ice cream is only 2 days away!!!) Whoohoo! Today was "getting back on track day". Here are your daily summaries:
3rd, 5th, 7th
Today we went over scientific notation. It was a good review from Mrs. Conner's class, it also was the last section in Chapter 2 which means tomorrow we will do a study guide, Monday play a review game, and that leaves Tuesday to take the TEST! For homework tonight you have Pg. 132 # 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 25, 26. As promised the answer to # 26 is Hydrogen, Carbon, Oxygen, Silver, and Gold.

4th
The students played a review game today for bonus points on their TEST tomorrow. Study hard!!

8th
We were introduced to graphing linear functions and equations today. For homework do Pg. 157 #1, 3, 5-11

Have a great evening...TEST MONKEY!

  2. Mr. Mann i need help on #8) {Graph each equation by using x- and y-intercepts}
    2x - 5y = 1

    and i don't really understand how to make a table for 9 - 11

  3. Richard-

    to find the x-intercept you are going to substitute 0 in for y. Then solve the equation to find x. The ordered pair will be what you get for x and 0 for y. Then to find the y-intercept substitute 0 for x and solve the equation which will give you y. The ordered pair is then 0 for x and what you get for y. You plot those two points and draw a line through those two points. For 9-11 you pick numbers to replace x with (I would use -2,-1,0,1,2) and then solve to find the y coordinates for each value of y. Plot those points and draw a line through them! Hope that help!!!
