In regular classes today we continued work on percents. For homework we had pg. 318 #10-23. In the advanced class we moved to circles, finding the area and circumference. For homework we have pgs. 296-297 #11-14, 16-19, 26-30 Omit #28. In other news the term four grading period has been extended until next Friday. Have a great evening, one more to go this week! Past the halfway point! In the regular classes todaywe went over finding the percent of a number. For homework the students have pg. 314 #27-34 all, 44-48 even. They also recieved a stamp in their journal for notetaking. In the advanced class we were introduced to the Pythagorean Theorem. We learned how to find any missing sides of a right triangle and how to use the theorem to assist us in finding the area of triangles. I went light on the homework tonight pg. 292 #4-7, 12. have a great evening, we'll do it all over again tomorrow!

Tuesday's Gone with the wind! In the regular classes we checked homework, had a group bonus activity (whoohoo), went over an example, and assigned Pg. 310 #37-39. In the advanced class we checked homework, worked on finding the perimeter and area of trapezoids and triangles, then assigned Pg. 287 #11-18, 21-31. Have a great day!!

Wrapping up the week by wrapping up our class projects. They are going to take me quite some time to grade but I will do my best to be speedy. Next week it will be back to business as usual by starting a unit on percents. Later in this unit I will be asking for some interest rates on bank accounts, credit cards, and other loans. Don't be alarmed I don't want to know any personal business, I just want to make the unit as realistic as possible....all I want is interest rates. In the advanced class we will be moving into more geometry...whooohoooo! Way to go Boys basketball! Good luck in the championship Monday against Huntington!

I think the 2 hr. delay was a good way to ease back into the groove! The students worked on their Road Trip Projects all day. These are due tomorrow at the end of class, they are not to be taken out of the class however. They shouldn't have a problem completing them. With tomorrow's class they will have been given 2 hours of class time to complete them and they are working with a partner! The advanced class' Chapter 5 test grades are finally on edline. I will explain the grading scale tomorrow in class when I give them back, if your child cannot remember or doesn't understand do not hesitate to email me a question. Alrighty then, we rounded out the week by checking some homework in class (all grades are up to date on edline) and doing a few problems together, that means no homework!! All quizzes that were turned in are graded and on edline as well (if you see an ** for your child's grade that means they have not taken or finished the quiz, they need to do that asap!). In the advanced class we took the test, I will have those graded and returned as soon as I can. Have a great weekend! (perhaps make a snowman?!)

The Panthers go marching on!! and on and on and on....today in the regular classes we went over using similar figures to find unknown lengths. Homework is Pg. 286 #1-10. All quizzes and the worksheet grades from yesterday are graded and on edline. In the advanced class we went over the study guide in anticipation of tomorrow's TEST! Have a great evening!

Ok, in the regular classes today we had some folks that still had to finish their quiz so while they completed that others began work on a worksheet in class, if they didn't finish that is ok, we will do so tomorrow. In the advanced class we went over last nights homework and paired up to work on a study for our Chapter 5 TEST that will be on Friday. 1st periods quizzes are graded and updated to Edline. Another one bites the dust! The regular classes took a quiz, but were also getting their agendas and notebooks checked during the process. Their grades are up to date on Edline, other than the quiz of course (I'm good, but not that good). In the advanced class we talked about line and rotational symmetry. For homework they have Pgs. 261 and 262 #1-6, 13-16. Have a great evening!
